Throughout our years in high school you have been our disciplinarian, counsellor, and friend. As disciplinarian you had to get after us for some things whether we liked it or not. Some were major problems that took strong action, while others were small and only re¬ quired a good lecture. As the Bible says, Whom the Lord loveth He chaseneth, we could say, Whom the principal loves he punishes. You kept an eye on us making sure we stayed straight. We may not have liked it, but we realize that it was necessary. As a counsellor you have taken time to talk with us individually to discuss our plans for the future. Colleges, what tests to take, and countless other suggestions you have made to guide us in the hope that we will succeed in what we try. As a friend you sought to find extra activities for us to do. In 1968 you introduced a pro¬ gram of weekly clubs. Within these four years interscholastic sports, basketball and baseball, were organized for boys and girls. You took charge of coaching the girls ' teams, a group of which you were very proud. Soccer was introduced this year to our boys. You taught and coached them. These boys and girls put their faith in your judge¬ ment and advice. As a friend you know us as individuals, each by name, as well as our thoughts and feelings. We had faith in your understanding of situations, as you evidenced faith in us. In appreciation for all this, your faith in our abilities, your hopes for us in the future, and your love for us now and always, we dedicate the 1972 Ambassador to you, Mr. Alfred E. Monson. IN ME MORI AM I Corinthians 15:51-57 Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be rised in¬ corruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin: and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the vie - tory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Michael Lake 1958-1971 Death, to most people in the world, is something to be dreaded, feared, and avoided as long as possible. It seems especially cruel when it takes the life of one who is young. However, isn ' t is wonderful that we as Christians can accept death without fear and can even welcome it, having the promise of that life which is to come. We continually look forward, as Michael did, to Christ ' s return, but what a blessed as¬ surance to know that if we die we shall go to be with Him in glory. 4
