THE Y. G. C. A Last fall, under the guidance of the 6th and 7th grade teachers, the girls’ club, known as the Young Girls Christian Association of Capeville School, was organized. Although this club has not made an initial public appearance, we are proud of them and of the quality of young womanhood they exemplify. The Y. G. C. A. has gone fairly well. It eosponsored a talent show and cake walk. A fourth of the proceeds was given to the March of Dimes. They also held a panel discussion in the school auditorium entitled, Personal Grooming . The panel was very inspirational and beneficial. The girls participating were, Lydia Spady, Margaret Trower, and Carolyn Giddens. The Y. G. C. A. is now anticipating a spring rally. The proceeds of which will be used to purchase club buttons. The Y. G. C. A. feels that the best way to understand good, wholesome, sisterly association is to let it speak for itself. The club has sugar and spice and everything nice. There isn’t a dull moment. Next year when school opens and the Y. G. C. A. reassembles, it will miss many of its former members. Those who will have gone to the high school, we wish for them a rosy future and a brilliant career. CLUB MOTTO: Onward Ever, Backward Never.
