Cape May High School entered the contest for the third year in 1956. We had first received hon- orable mention. Next, came second place. XVC were thrilled when the announcement came of our first place award this year. lt has been a team effort for the paper staff as much as a cham- pionship is a team effort for an athletic group. The Capers overcame the Coast Guard B squad with a 13-7 win. In the fray against the Panthers of Middle Township, we did not score, but held the powerful and fast South jersey champs to 13 points. The games against Hammonton and Egg Harbor were each lost by one touchdown. An exciting Cape May-Wfildwood game was played in a steady drizzle.
