MRS MARGARET SCHELLENGER MR. HAROLD B. SHILL Art Social Science It turned out to be the English department which I had planned on visiting anyway. I awoke to the sound of a loud laugh, the result-I later found out-of a Chaucer discussion. I didn't think it right for there to be laughter in an English class, but as the class progressed, saw that out or the laughter was coming knowledge and bowed out. I next came to a room from which issued sounds of a discussion of government. I wandered into the social studies department, but ran out when I found that they had progressed far beyond where I might ever go. Seeing writing on a board which said sine, I went to the teacher to correct her spelling. She told me that this was a mathematics class, not an English group. Properly squelched, I apologized and remarked upon the efficiency of the department and left quickly to remarks of, Sea- horse is to stupid as Cape May is to seoshore. This was enough, but as I continued my tour, I noticed that in arts, athletics, agriculture, and home economics -my knowledge was inferior to that which the present stu- dents were acquiring. Seeing my deficiencies I left the classroom, never to return, and went to meet the new crop of seniors.
