JS . . . What is Cape Fear Tech.? It is more than a tall brick building on Front Street. It is a place where people come to learn, make new friends, and have some fun. The time spent at Cape Fear Tech, can produce memories that remain in our hearts for a long time. Some may not be worth remembering, and most times are forgotten soon after we are gone. However, the good times seem to stay with us for- ever. Oh yes, we remember standing in line at registration and still not getting our classes, but what about the fun we had at the Fall and Spring Flings or the Christmas Program? However, we know that the best memory of all was the day that our degree was finally ours. From Freshman Orientation to Graduation, Cape Fear Tech, becomes a part of our lives, a very special part. 4 5 Welding class ZSAeMSKS Am ecASSss When it comes to the teachers here at Cape Fear Tech, we have the best possible. These people work very hard to make our classes interesting and worthwhile, and we all know that an interesting class can make a world of difference in what we do or do not learn. Besides all of the hard work that goes into planning our classes, our teachers spend hours of out- of-class time making sure we know what we are doing. So students, when you have graduated and look back at your degree, give some thought to these people. Because if it were not for the teachers, you might not be where you are. Pat Roderick Bill Clark Everyone ' s best friend, Santa 8 MJ JW MW mSMS KSACMjm ■ if::- ki i GOMS ’ -1 1 i. f From the time we attend Freshman Orientation, we set in motion a process to reach the one goal for which we attend school here. It is a long process and sometimes the rewards are few, but in the end we all know it is worth it. If you were to ask most stu- dents what Graduation meant to them, most would probably re- ply, “to get out of this place . However, most of them do not realize that once they leave Cape Fear Tech, new goals have to be set. For instance, how far do they want to go with their career? As you wait in line or in the audience, think about what goals you have or need to set for your future. Good luck! Reminiscing 10 Honor students Together one last time President McLeod and Dr. Satterfield present degrees 11 Qsz jmocvsD Have you ever thought about how many ways that you can get involved here at Capr Fear Tech? Well, if you haven ' t, here are just a few. First there is the Student Gov- ernment Association. You can be a senator, join a committee, or just help out someone who is campaigning for an office. Next there are sports. I ' ll bet that some of you didn ' t even know that we have basketball, softball, or even golf here. Well we do and you are welcome to participate. Last there are the games and clubs. There are three game rooms on the first floor and al- most anytime you can find someone in them. As for the clubs, most of them are associat- ed with the curriculums, so ask your instructors if you are inter- ested. If there is something you might be interested in don ' t just sit around, get up and do some- thing about it. Delaney Tart 12 13 The Table Tennis Room. 14 A MW WOK When you returned to school last fall, we are sure that you no- ticed something different about the first floor. Our Maintenance Staff spent a good part of the summer remodeling the cafete- ria and fixing two new game rooms and a meeting room. These men do a lot of things around this school that go unno- ticed most of the time. They keep our classrooms comfort- able, the grounds well mani- cured, and a lot of little things that we never give a thought to. Because these men do so much for this school; this page is for them. It also brings to a close a long year of putting together a special yearbook for the students here. At this time I would like to thank the people who helped to put this book together. First are Nick Howard, Pete Clark, and Kathy Owens for their pho- tography contributions. Next are Pat Roderick, Dale Roberts, and Pam Warner for selling advertisements. Also thanks go to David Gregory and the staff of Colorcraft for rushing through most of our picture orders. Last but certainly not least, a very special thank you goes to my two advisors, Mr. Charles Hunnicutt, and Mr. Carl Malpass, for without their help this book would not be possible.
