To the Seniors: As you leave Cape Cod Community College, you may be con- fident of our continued interest in your education — botli formal and informal. Just as a store is known by its product, the reputation of a college is dependent, in a large measure, upon the success of its graduates. We are extremely proud to add the names of the Class of 1969 to the list of those graduates who have preceded you and who have won the reputation for the college which you have enjoyed. Elinor E. Hanna Dean of the College To the Graduates of 1969: Obviously you have our sincere congratula- tions! More than that, however, we would like to issue the challenge which is inherent in the very idea of graduation. We talk of Commence- ment which actually means to begin. This is the challenge! Begin now to use the fruits of your graduation to attain even higher things. Take your place in an institution of higher learn- ing, enter the business world or whatever you wish, but as you do so, do it with the conviction that your graduation signifies that you are ready to begin! E. CARLETON NICKERSON, A.B., M.B.A. An underlying purpose and goal of the College is to help awaken the intellect and spirit of the individual to the end that he may live a richer life, bring his maximum ability to his chosen career, and apply an enlightened understanding to civic responsibilities. This is a common end sought by most students and faculty alike. Although the College facilities are by no means the fanciest, thi s is more than offset by the quality of the teach- ing, the cooperative spirit which pervades the student body, faculty and administration, and the growing sense of in- volvement. And soon there will be a new campus and college, to which we will transfer these strengths. Here you have been faced with a rigorous academic program in an atmosphere of few rules and substantial free- dom for the individual. This has required the development of self-discipline, which it has been a joy to watch flower. To all of you, Good luck. E. Carleton Nickerson President
