The yearbook staff of Cape Cod Covwixniity College knoivs that it echoes coinpletely the sentiment of the students graduating this year in dedicating this year ' s issue to Dr. E. Justin Hills, who will retire from our faculty this June. When Dr. Hills joined our teaching staff in 1962, he hro ight with him a wealth of experience gained from a career as both professor and scholar in the field of mathematics. hi addition to his having been teacher and mentor to students at five colleges throughout the country, Dr. Hills has contributed three published books to the field of mathe- matics, has contributed articles to the Lincoln Library Ency- clopedia, and has devised netv methods in slide rule develop- ment. Dr. Hills will leave us and his full-time teaching career, yet he tvill continue his scholarly vocation in the preparation of still another book. We feel honored that Dr. Hills considers his years at Cape Cod Community College his most rewarding ex- perience.

E. CARLETON NICKERSON, A.B., M.B.A. An underlying purpose and goal of the College is to help awaken the intellect and spirit of the individual to the end that he may live a richer life, bring his maximum ability to his chosen career, and apply an enlightened understanding to civic responsibilities. This is a common end sought by most students and faculty alike. Although the College facilities are by no means the fanciest, thi s is more than offset by the quality of the teach- ing, the cooperative spirit which pervades the student body, faculty and administration, and the growing sense of in- volvement. And soon there will be a new campus and college, to which we will transfer these strengths. Here you have been faced with a rigorous academic program in an atmosphere of few rules and substantial free- dom for the individual. This has required the development of self-discipline, which it has been a joy to watch flower. To all of you, Good luck. E. Carleton Nickerson President
