The classroom is an arena in miniature where one exercises . . the mind! Studying or looking for books, the library is a haven for inquisitive minds. During Christmas vacation what was once the college lounge be- came a new addition to the li- brary. The cushioned chairs and sofas of the fourth floor exten- sion certainly make studying a more comfortable undertaking— if you don ' t fall asleep! In the Commons, CCCC stands for cokes, cards, cigarettes, and characters. You know, if you can tear yourself away from the notices and bulletin boards, you may meet some very interesting people in the corridors! 26 : ; : $i a m i 27 In the lives of the students, the ritual of study takes many forms. 28 « tfl 29 Christmas Sing and Tea- Some were too enraptured to sing, and some were singing too earnestly to be enraptured. 30 The comforts of home are many and varied, but student life wouldn ' t be the same without them. Frustrations disappear in an informal game of basketball or ping- pong. Others are con- tent to kibitz from the side-lines or allow themselves the luxury of a satisfying stretch. The Helmsmen The pride of our young school is the fine varsity basketball team, The Helmsmen. Ably coached by Tom Clark and urged on by our spirited cheerleaders, the team did an extremely creditable job in its second year of league play, emerging as league cham- pions in the tournament play- offs.
