Carrying on the tradition of the four men who united to form a service club in the spring of 1961, Phi Delta Psi has continued to promote better understanding between students, and community service to all. With this objective in mind, the present members set out this year to obtain the goal set by their brothers. Among the various projects carried out by the club were several successful dances and community projects, including a lead drive for the Handicraft Work- shop. We, the members of Phi Delta Psi, wish to express our sincerest wishes for success to the class of ' 64. 23

an The eleven original members who organized this group, which is primarily a service group to the college and the community chose to call them- selves the Cappas. Dr. Elinor Hanna has acted as faculty sponsor for the girls since a charter was issued to the club in November, 1 961 . In September, ten sophomore members held an initiation for freshman and sophomore girls wishing to join the club. After the initiation the club started on its initial project, which was to help at the second Open House that the college held early in October. At this function, the girls served as hostesses and guides to the visitors. The club has worked at various school functions which included a dance on February 14 called the Cupid Caper. In March, the Cappas began volunteer work at the Cape Cod Hospital. The Club ' s new members put on a food sale, and over $40.00 was raised. Officers for the club are Lydia Almedia, president; Sharon Gordon, vice president; Joan Richards, treasurer; and Patricia Di Pietro, secretary. 25
