R-6 DIVISION PROPULSION REPAIR DIVISION (R-6) GSM2 K. Esser GSE2 P. Orogo EN3 Berry ' s technical training is put to the test. R-6 enjoying ship ' s picnic in Adak, Alaska. R-6 Division maintains and repairs main propul- sion and auxiliary equip- ment. This is accomplished through the efforts of the following workcenters: In- ternal Combustion Engine Shop, Hydraulic Pneumat- ic Shop, Gas Turbine Re- pair Shop, Boiler Repair Shop, and the Air-Condi- tioning and Refrigeration Shop. R-6 completed approxi- mately 360 jobs while on WESTPAC 89-90, from the simplest job of changing out a gasket to tearing down and rebuilding entire components. Despite the degree of difficulty, all the jobs were done with the same amount of expertise and dedication that R-6 is known for.
