R-3 DIVISICJN 51-A 51-B 51-D 51-G 92-A O6-B Fl-3 Division is one of Repair Department's 'heavy' divisions, repeatedly performing urgently- needed repairs to electrical systems onboard fleet units. Staffed with over 60 electrician mates and interior communications electricians, the division is capable of performing virtually the same level of work as a shipyard facility. Machinist Mate Chief Dapiaoen is the shop supervisor of the Pump Repair Shop with Machinist Mate Chief Abano and newly-reported aboard Machinist Mate Chief Townes as his assistant. Only positive comments may be made of this outstanding work center. Thirty-two highly skilled and knowledgeable machinist mates are assigned to the Pump Repair Shop who are technical experts in the repair of main feed, main feed booster, salt water, fresh water and fuel oil service pumps. Regardless of the condition of the defective pump, this shop can repair it. The Pump Repair Shop completed one hundred-forty-six work requests while deployed at Al Masirah, Oman, many of which were made extremely difficult and challenging because of the short turn-around time required. The Pump Shop approached each pump repair job with a CAN-DO attitude, and did it. The outstanding efforts of the Pump Repair Shop is evident by the dramatically improved operational material readiness of all tended ships who utilized the services of these highly dedicated professionals. ff!-0 'Vw .44 I f K 57 i
