ENGINEERING LTJG J. Gaffney Division Officer E Division is divided into two groups. Electricians and interior communications. The electricians ensure power requirements onboard are always available for lighting systems, receptacles, radar, ventilation, and all electrical machinery. The IC-men focus their attention on alarms, dial telephones, sound powered telephones, ships entertainment, gyrocompass, and all IC equipment. The water used for cooking, laundry, and the boilers is made by the engineers of M Division.
