Their responsi- bilities include 'performing underwater main- tenance, including propeller changes and minor hull repair on a variety of ships using a variety of diving equipment and advanced deep diving systemsg maintaining and performing minor re- pairs to diving equipment, participating in re- search and development of new diving tech- niques, and supervising all diving operations.

The Plan- ning Office is made up of personnel from var- ious rates who serve as liason between CAPE COD and tended units to ensure prompt and efficient service. 49
