Ol f ON DIVISION Comprised of the Navigator, Quartermas- ters, Operation Specialists and Signalmen, OIXON Division is responsible for ensuring CAPE COD arrives at the intended destination on time. The QMs maintain continuous watch- es underway to plot course and position and the Oss ensure that the Combat Information Center is manned so the location and direction of other vessels in our area is recorded. While our QMS and OSs are using sophisticated elec- tronic gear to do their jobs, our Signalmen pro- vide the valuable means of internationally un- derstood visual communication with ships when other communications are unavailable or inappropriate. 17
