We, the en- tire school, are extremely proud of our team which came from last place early in the season to end in second place with a great finish. One of the first highlights of our season was being runners-up in the first A.I.C.T. Two of our players, Andrew Wiggins and Bobby Heath, made the All-Tournament Team, with Wiggins being awarded the M.V.P. trophy. We, then, entered the second highlight of the season, the Region A, Dis- trict A Tournament. Our team advanced to the championship game by de- feating Parksley in die semi-final round. We ended the tournament runners- up with our heartbreaking loss to Central. The final high-point of our season came when we represented District A in the State Regional Tournament held at Ashland. Our gallant effort fell short when Cape Charles was defeated by Rappahannock High School in a narrow margin of four points. Wiggins was selected to the Second All-Re- gional Tournament Team. Our team deserves great praise for facing overwhelming odds and disad- vantages, with never once faltering in their confidence or spirit due to the unending faith and support of Coach Travis. Again we would like to say to the players and Coach Travis, CONGRATULATIONS for a wonderful season which ended by Cape Charles High School being the fifth best team in Eastern Virginia. 18 19 J.V.
