Our Principal It has been a pleasure for me to become acquaint- ed with the students and teachers of this school. Your loyalty to the school is most encouraging. For each senior I wish much success and happi- ness in all of your future efforts whether they be in further education, work, or homemaking. May you always look back on your years at this school as some of the happiest years of your life. You may know that we follow all your successes and share your pride in them. For those of you who return, we wish the satis- faction that comes from'tasks well done. May we all work together to make Cape Charles High School the finest school that it is possible for it to be.

n A Senior Twelve years of study has a Senior had, See him so tall and straight and sad. For one brief moment he and a first grader One the beginner; the other, a graduate Have touched hands. One forfeiting his childhood The younger, continuing hers. Looking at her, the Senior wonders Was I ever so small?” While secretly, for a moment, He wishes his childhood could last forever And like Pan, never grow old. The first grader's face full of admiration Reminds him of his own gratification When a Senior noticed him - so long ago. And now I'm really one, also. But now must 1 turn my eyes Toward the future. Who knows what unknown wonders lie ahead? Yet we must see that our nation is led Towards the right, by us, the future. So shall we lift our standards high, With my generations' cry: Ad Astra - to the stars!
