And men shall dream of mightier deeds Than ever have been done before: There always shall be human needs For men to work and struggle for. Edgar A. Guest Use by permission from Contem- porary Books, Inc. Ill n M K.V M M THE FUTURE i IS IN OUR HANDS 1 OLD AND NEW Almont game was played in the old gym February 10. New gym was finally completed by second semester. I know just where everything is! Now where did I put that Ah! Finally I’ve got some space! note? NEW FACES AT CHS Mr. Jack O ' Reilly- Principal He has a Bachelor of Science Degree from C.M.U., a Master ' s Degree from C.M.U. in Educational Administration, and he will receive a Specialist Degree in June from C.M.IJ. Mr. Joe Remenap- Assistant Principal He has a Bachelor of Science Degree from C.M.IJ. He also has a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from C.M.IJ. ADMIN STRATION EDUCATION I think that I would rather teach a child The joys of kindness than long hours to spend Poring o’er multiple and dividend; How differing natures may be reconciled Rather than just how cost accounts are filed; How to live bravely to its end Rather than how one fortress to defend, Or how gold coins once gathered can be piled. There is an education of the mind Which all require and parents early start, But there is training of a nobler kind And that’s the education of the heart. Lessons that are most difficult to give Are faith and courage and the way to live. EDGAR A. GUEST CONTEMPORARY BOOKS, INC. Main Street, Capac. Her first goal is to work a year or so and then maybe attend Brooks College of California. When asked what her first thought was when she was picked Queen was, “It was a great feeling to know that I was liked well enough around school to be elected Homecoming Queen.” Miss Glombowski is active in Volleyball, Girls Basketball. There’s nothing else but stone I see, With but this ribbon of a sky; And not a garden big enough To share it with a butterfly. Why do I walk these dull dark streets, In gloom and silence, all day long — In Springtime, when the blackbird’s day Is four and twenty hours of song? W.H. Davies THOMAS Y. CROWELL COMP. Graduates At This Farewell Dear Native Regions, I fortell, From what I feel at this farewell, That, Where so’er my course shall end In that hour a single tie Survive of local Sympathy, my soul will cast the backward view, The longing look alone on you. Thus while the sun sinks down to rest Far in the Regions of the west, Though to the vale no parting beam, Be given, not one memorial gleam, a lingering light he fondly throws On the dear hills where first he rose.
