CAPACIAN The year of 1972-73, what has it meant to you as a functioning unit of the school system, a citizen of the United States, and as a child of the universe? For eighth grade students it was the beginning of their final school years and the beginning of many unforgettable times. For seniors it was the beginning of the end. They watched and played their last athletic events attended their final ball and prom, and sat through their last classes. Each day brought them closer to the final time when they walked through the halls as students of Capac High. But the year didn’t only bring endings; it brought new beginnings. Computerized schedules, new victories and defeats, new teachers, hopes of a new school, and new experiences also came. In the nation we also had beginnings and endings. We saw the end of life for two former presidents, death in war and domestic tragedies. But new life began each day and lives were saved by our advanced technology. The Apollo space program came to a successful end with hope for new beginnings of further exploration. We joyfully and thankfully greeted the end of the Vietnam war which enabled our ser- vicemen and P.O.W.’s to begin life anew. Each moment, each day that passes, closes one door but holds another open to shine a glimpse of a new light. The light of challenge, research, progress, beginnings and endings, life.
