ADMINISTRATION A TIME FOR MEMORIES Each year, one hopes to achieve goals which can be looked back to with pride and satisfaction. This year, despite many unfore- seen obstacles, the students, faculty, and ad- ministration of Capac have done their best to further the advancement of education. And now let us all remember this year not as a year of problems, but of conquering them; not as a year of losses, but of gains; in short, as one of the finest in the history of Capac High School. MR. Not pictured is our vice-president, Steve Glombowski. Our candidates for 1968-1969 Homecoming Queen were Sharon Bugajski, Cathy Clark, Char- lotte Hulett, Lisa Sivec, and Joan Wittstock. Serving as Honorary princess was Uda Herlyn, our ex- change student from Germany. The reigning home- coming queen is Cathy Clark. Following the homecoming, the excitement of the class was aroused by the arrival of their sen- ior pictures — the highlight of the year. Next the seniors sponsored the Christmas Ball. Jackie Anspaugh and Mike Brunelle reigned as Queen and King. Everyone enjoyed our Santa Claus, who seemed to remind everyone of Steve Glombowski. As the end of the year approaches, graduation is becoming more of a real thing, and the Senior Class is busily planning for their final month as 1969 sen- iors of Capac High. 14 THIS PAGE SPONSORED BY CAPAC BODY SHOP JANICE M. UNDERGRADS The Junior Class started out the year with class officers: Joe Ambrose, President; left to right: Marie Sonner, Vice President; Mary Marga- ret Copeland, Secretary; and Pam Oland, Treas- urer. Also chosen were Student Council Repre- sentatives: Joe Aguinaga and Janet Rhody. During the annual magazine drive our class brought in $1399.42 which was nearly one-third of the school’s total. The theme for our homecoming float was Chiefs Gong the Cardinals . We organized aschool spirit committee to boost school spirit for our class. At the end of Homecoming week the claim to the Spirit Jug belonged to the class of ' 70. For the Christmas Ball Princess Charlene Hoffman and Prince Jerry Worden were selected to represent the Juniors. We plan a Junior Prom on May 10 entitled Enchanted Gardens . Our class sponsors are: left to right, Mrs. Clarkson, Mr. Brown, and Mrs. Thompson. 30 THIS PAGE SPONSORED BY CLARKSON ' S DAIRY Jim Abraham Jim Abshier Joe Aguinaga Mike Aldrich Joe Ambrose Karen Archer Connie Arnold Mike Baker Tom Barnett Tony Bautista Dale Behnke Dennis Behnke Geff Beischer Ron Bieganowski Diane Bliss Chris Bradley Geneal Brooks Rita Brunelle Joyce Bullock Chalo Camacho Patti Carpenter George Chernenko Mary Copeland Nancy Czerepowicz Dan Davila Dave Davila David Dawe Larry Dell Chris Doutry Linda Downey THIS PAGE SPONSORED BV BROWN’S 50 TO $1 STORE 31 Leo Foster Bob Friedsberg David Garza Ted Ginn Dawn Gottschalk Annette Granc Kathy Graybiel Phil Guzman Tim Harvey Paul Hayost Scott Helsom Glenda Henry Charlene Hoffman Dan Holzer Kathy Honsinger David Hoover Barbara Hunter Dick Hunter Juniors receive spirit jug 32 Christmas is coming Dennis Kersten Erwin Killingbeck Steve Kinzer Kathy Knop Kathy Kocis Richard Koning David Kuck David Lambert Cathy Lamphere Elwood Louk David Love Myra Machinski Walter Manz Laurie Markwart Marcia Martin Karen Massie Jim Mauricio Steve McClean Ed Mclver Sue Meeker page sponsored by MARKWART OIL— AND GAS 33 Kathy Miller Debby Mizdrak Hazle Murdock Joe Nino Pam Oland Sue Opificius Donna Palecki Mike Palmateer Robert Parker Harry Rapson Roy Raska Kathy Rattew Ron Revitzer Janet Rhody Rick Roberts Sue Robinson Frances Rosas Doug Salerno Becky Sarow Ron Schaefer i 34 THIS PAGE SPONSORED BY THE STANDARD STATION Mary Sue Seidell Denise Showier Mary Shutt Denise Smith Lynn Smith Richard Smith Sandra Snow Marie Sonner Ron Speck Doug Spiller Ron Stahlbuck Neil Stegman Prince and Princess - Christmas Ball Gerry Worden and Charlene Hoffman Dean Stern George Sullivan Kathy Tanner Bill Thomas Mark VanPoppelen Vicky Villalpando David Vranish Shirley Wagner Ed Watteny Mike Wahowske THIS PAGE SPONSORED BV VAN POPPELEN DRUG 35 Is my name there? 36 THIS PAGE SPONSORED BY MILLCREEK GOLF COURSE Look! Other officers were, left to right: treasurer, Ruth Hager; secretary, Sam Bugajski; and vice-president, Duane Stuever. Our student council representatives were Jill Huston and Jon Stoutenburg. Mr. Nickerson and Mrs. Leslie have been very helpful as our sponsors this year also. At Homecoming, our float, Let ' s ' Ear a Vic- tory , which portrayed the Walt Disney character Dumbo, won first prize. We also came in second for the annual spirit jug award. The next event of the year was the Freshman Initiation Dance. The Purple Haze supplied the music for the dance. Representing the Sophomore class at the Christ- mas Ball this year as our prince and princess were Dale Mills and Pat Malloy. We are now looking forward to the arrival of our class rings, which we ordered in December. Jo Anspaugh, Denise Treece, and Beth Clark were chosen to represent our class on the Student Council. Our first big project was our Homecoming float called Sink the Cardinals , featuring Mickey Mouse as he drilled a hole in the Cardinals boat. The Sophomores honored us with a Freshman Initiation dance. Then the holiday season drew near and we chose Rori Kahn and Devin Helsom as our Princess and Prince at the annual Christmas Ball. We later sponsored a Sophomore Appreciation dance to which the whole school was invited. Our class sponsors are Mrs. Sallie Pakkala and Mr. Donald Christie. At that first meeting, plans were already being discussed on the forthcoming magazine sale. The mon- ey acquired from the sale, it was decided, would go for the purchase of journalism equipment for the school paper. Since the Veterans ' Day program last year was successful, another one this year was put on by the Student Council which was also successful and was for the benefit of the public. Shortly before the Christmas holidays, the Student Council proclaimed a casual day in which the rule was to wear the type of clothing that would normally be worn outside of school. Each student who participated paid a charge of 25£ which later went into a fund for an individ- ual of our community who desperately needed it. As you can see, this year the Student Council has done another fine job in keeping with the tradition of performing useful services. 50 THIS PAGE SPONSORED BY CAPAC AUTO SUPPLY YEARBOOK STAFF FRONT ROW: Dave Dawe, Business Manager; Mr. Wallace Leslie, Sponsor; Mary Sue Seidell, Editor; Mary Margaret Copeland, Joe Ambrose, Photographer.
