Serving as Honorary princess was Uda Herlyn, our ex- change student from Germany. The reigning home- coming queen is Cathy Clark. Following the homecoming, the excitement of the class was aroused by the arrival of their sen- ior pictures — the highlight of the year. Next the seniors sponsored the Christmas Ball. Jackie Anspaugh and Mike Brunelle reigned as Queen and King. Everyone enjoyed our Santa Claus, who seemed to remind everyone of Steve Glombowski. Also chosen were Student Council Repre- sentatives: Joe Aguinaga and Janet Rhody. During the annual magazine drive our class brought in $1399.42 which was nearly one-third of the school’s total. The theme for our homecoming float was Chiefs Gong the Cardinals . We organized aschool spirit committee to boost school spirit for our class. At the end of Homecoming week the claim to the Spirit Jug belonged to the class of ' 70. For the Christmas Ball Princess Charlene Hoffman and Prince Jerry Worden were selected to represent the Juniors. We plan a Junior Prom on May 10 entitled Enchanted Gardens . At Homecoming, our float, Let ' s ' Ear a Vic- tory , which portrayed the Walt Disney character Dumbo, won first prize. We also came in second for the annual spirit jug award. The next event of the year was the Freshman Initiation Dance. The Purple Haze supplied the music for the dance. Our first big project was our Homecoming float called Sink the Cardinals , featuring Mickey Mouse as he drilled a hole in the Cardinals boat. The Sophomores honored us with a Freshman Initiation dance. Then the holiday season drew near and we chose Rori Kahn and Devin Helsom as our Princess and Prince at the annual Christmas Ball. At that first meeting, plans were already being discussed on the forthcoming magazine sale. The mon- ey acquired from the sale, it was decided, would go for the purchase of journalism equipment for the school paper. Since the Veterans ' Day program last year was successful, another one this year was put on by the Student Council which was also successful and was for the benefit of the public. Shortly before the Christmas holidays, the Student Council proclaimed a casual day in which the rule was to wear the type of clothing that would normally be worn outside of school. Each student who participated paid a charge of 25£ which later went into a fund for an individ- ual of our community who desperately needed it.
