There are many students who consider attending high school a waste of time. Then there are others who thoroughly enjoy the experience, Ina country like ours where everyone has an equal opportunity for success we should deem it a privilege to attend school. The years fly by so fast that we cannot realize how important our high school days are. When a piece of sculpture is made the artist makes many changes in the basic pattern of his work, How well his initial effort is accomplished will determine his success, He must through trial and error create the finished product. Whena child enters high school he makes many adjustments as he progresses in his education, How well he applies himself, how willing and eager he is to discover and use his abilities and talents shows his attitude toward life. His many interests, associations and exper- iences make possible the development of a finer sense of what is right and what is wrong. There are many good things accomplished and there are many fine qualities developed and sometimes mistakes are made, But this is the place for the student to find them out and correct them. We teachers pledge ourselves to be advisors and helpers to you students, It is our ambition to guide and direct you wisely along the pathway of high school education. ‘ What sculpture is to a block of marble, education is to the human soul.'' -- Addison Yoseph Gg Colby | SS, uperin tendent

Democracy is an effective way of living based upon fundamental and lasting ideals. Individuals are respected, have dignity, make choices and decisions, assume and dis- charge responsibilities, use and help to preserve human rights, and have opportunities to work with others in the pursuit of common interests, All of these values, the develop- ment of which constitutes a challenge to every teacher, become increasingly significant in daily living. In our stress upon the individual privileges and freedom enjoyed in a democracy, we sometimes fail to realize the inherent responsiblilties coupled with these privileges. One ought to be more concerned with what he owes others than what they owe him. The world does not owe anyone a living. The elevator to success is not running, take, the stairs at the top of which may your Master be able to greet you with His Well Done. Frank Gg Spotts | Principal
