Sport Means Action The Canyon del Cro Girl's Physical Education Department provided students with the opportunity to become involved in athletic endeavor whether in class or on one of the teams. Katie Frey was the department head. Other members of the physical education staff included Mrs. Eerkes, Miss Leffler, and Mrs. Dreyer. Two years of physical education were required of all students, These requirements could be filled by either the regular Freshman or Sophomore courses, or by involvement in team sports such as volleyball, softball, Powder Puff foot- ball, basketball, or cheerleading. An excellent gym- nastics program was also offered. A new program that began this year was Adventure Sports. Sail- boating instruction as well as scuba diving in the depths of the Dennis Weaver pool were iust some features of this program which also included helpful tips on hiking and camping. of 3 f f X 'Ht-...t ff 1 oli- J, ,-uno, ur .
