f X 4 I Keep on Hikin The first hike of the year was along the Butterfly Trail on Mt. Lemmon. The Hiking Club also made numerous hikes in the Tucson Mountains, the Catali- nas, and the Santa Rita Mountains. There were 18 members in the club. The members paid their own way since there were no fund raising activities. The Club's spokesman for the year was Will Spalding. During the year, the club had speakers from the Mountain Rescue Association talk about safety while hiking. The philosophy of the club was to meet other hikers and to make information available to other hikers. Meetings were held at least several times a month in Mr. Gibson's room. A .
