fi Mr. Dowell Williams Mrs. Dorothy Nunn The ,1981-82 El Conquistador is proud to dedicate this year's edition of the yearbook to Principal Dowell Williams and Mrs. Dorothy Nunn. We have chosen Mr. Williams and Mrs. Nunn because of their love and concern for the students at Canutillo High School. Narrowing the choice down to two individuals was a hard decision, for we sincerely felt this honor could have been bestowed on a number of other deserving faculty mem bers. Mrs. Nunn has been involved in education for some 42 years, having received her bachelor's degree from San Diego State University and her master's degree in psychology from UTEP. Of those 42 years, Mrs. Nunn has been here at Canutillo for the last 16 years. When asked what major changes she had witnessed here in Canutillo, Mrs. Nunn replied that it has to be the size CHS has grown to. Mrs. Nunn feels that working with all of the students, teachers and administrators is the most rewarding part about her job. She has worked under eleven different administrations during her 16 years at CHS. As for the most frustrating part about her job, Mrs. Nunn replied she tried not to allow anything to frustrate her, as her philosophy is to take each day as it comes. Mr. Dowell Williams who has served as our principal for one-and-a half years, finds that his contact with the students is the most rewarding part of his job. Mr. Williams has been involved in education for 25 years, four of which he served as a math and science teacher at Presidio High School, Irvin High School, and Canutillo Jr. High School. As for the most frustrating part of his job, Mr. Williams cites changes that come too slowly and the paper work taccountabilityi which he points out is overwhelming. Concerning CHS' future, Principal Williams foresees an increase in student activities and an expanded cur- riculum, as well as an increase in physical growth with the additions of new buildings. ' Educationally, Mr. Williams received his BBA from UT Austin and his master's degree as an education specialist from NMSU. ln addition, Mr. Williams lacks only his dissertation to receive his doctorate's degree in education administration. After a hectic and busy day at school, Mr. Williams unwinds with sports and other outdoor activities.
