Some time around the middle of October, the school newspa- per, Eagle's Call, started under-going some changes. To begin with, Mr. Hector Castelo replaced Mr. Bert Salazar as the journalism teacher. Mr. Salazar resigned his position to finish working on his master's degree. A second major change was the size and format of the news- paper itself. A new size was initiated, increasing the size of the 8- page paper to a tabloid size. A concentrated effort was made by both the staff and the sponsor to produce error-free and well- written material. From the beginning, the goal of the staff was to improve with every issue. This year's staff was led by co-editors Pat Stewart and Aurora Castareda. After the first semester, the responsibility fell on Aurora's shoulders as Pat discontinued coming to school once she completed the necessary hours she needed to graduate. The rest of the staff was comprised of Rosa Acosta Qassistant editorl, Martha Gomez, Elizabeth Cano, Joe Medina, Lorena Zambrano, and Banti Gil. Adjusting to a new advisor two months into the school year was only one of the changes experienced by the yearbook staff. Along with advisor Hector Castelo, came new guidelines, a new layout format and other innovative ideas. As always, deadlines posed what at times appeared to be insurmountable obstacles. From the beginning, lack of photographic equipment made our task all that much more challenging but in spite of this and the pro- blems such as ruined rolls of film, lost negatives, and a Iackadaisical attitude by some staffers, we finally pro- duced our yearbook. With a year of experience under our belts and with the 28 expected acquisition of sorely needed equipment, next year's task should prove to be and an even bigger and better yearbook is already ing planned.
