I Boys hitaffamw WSW Eagle Thinclads were somewhat hampered this year because of the lack of track facilities, but some tough tracksters managed to turn in outstanding performances. Winning District and journeying to Regional this year, was Senior Orangeman discus-thrower Steve Holderfield and Senior pole vaulter Manny Her- nandez. This year's District Meet was hosted by Canutillo and was held at the U.T.E.P. track and field facility. At left, Frosh long jumper lose Miliag, can be seen making that frnal stretch in hrs event at Districtg and below, Junior Oscar Carrasco -e-fi bends over in concentration before the gun in the 440 yard dash. Representing this year's male and female contingent are Sweetheart Vangie Rivera and Beau Jesus Duarte . both are seniors.

lt' gcvfwwgionals In late Spring sports action, Eagle girl tracksters outshone the boys in tough District competition by quali- fying four to Regionals in Lubbock to the boys' two qualifiers. Senior sprite Jenny Perez, left at top, won the District low hurdles. Sophomore Susan Robinson garnered a second in the long jump, and Frosh Christi Garcia foretold great things to come by winning district in the shot put. Olga Orrantia, soph, took a District second in the shot put. Pictured above is this year's Cross Country sweetheart, Celia Leos. At the immediate right, freshmen Sally Ruiz approaches the high jump bar with determination and Annette Stroud rounds the curve in the 440 .
