E il eww Www MW Who else but the Seniors would get down in White Sands and surf the hills and burn in the 100 degree heat fnot to mention almost dying of dehydration in Aguirre Springsj? Messed up hair and undies full of sand was the scene . Never-the-less, Seniors kept it together and cooled off with ice on the bus. A swimming pool party at a pri- vate pool was the next day's event: Imagine that Rosa sneaking in the water while Sylvia Hidalgo was being thrown in the pool. Later, Seniors boogied to the Hustle down at poolside. At top left, Cuca shows her mountain climbing ability and Rosalia comes in second. monks WJMWWQ fabe bmecbyeafv On the night of June second, a one hundred and five strong Class of '77 said their final farewells to Canuta. Jesus Duarte, Valedictorian, delivered a fine speech and Saluta- torian Tim Ortiz welcomed the large crowd gathered in the Canu- tillo gym, by thanking his parents and all parents and teachers who helped these honored seniors to a successfull graduation . Mr. Thurman gave the main graduation address, and in it he told the gathering of graduates how the theme of restlessness related to their lives and their futures. Senior spon- sor, Mr. Heavens, acted as master of ceremonies. The ceremony ended with the passing out of spe- cial recognition to outstanding sen- iors and the traditional march for diplomas. Refreshments were served in the cafetorium and the patio area of the high school was filled with the sights and sounds of graduates and proud parents embracing and offering congratulations.
