Hickey Our new principal arrived at Cantwell after completing teaching assignments in New York and New Jersey . No stranger to Califomia, Brother was fonnerly princi- pal of Palma High School in Salinas . ln addition to his administrative duties Brother acts as moderator of theCa1'dinal, our school newspaper. He is also actively engaged in evaluation work For the arch- diocesan school system and is acting as an adviser to the government Poverty program .

This past year one of our faculty members marked fifty years of dedicated service to the youth of four countries . Only four of these fifty years have been spent here at Cantwell, nevertheless they have been memorable and filled with many hours of devoted work on our behalf. It is for this reason that we, the students of Cantwell, dedicate our i966 annual , Veritas, to our school librarian, Rev . Brother J .C. Hunt. Under Brother Hunt's direction, the library has undergone many improvements. In addition to his library work, Brother has found time to direct our promising chess team. He has shown his interest in all of Cantwell's activity ranging from basketball to public speaking. Then too, there were times we tried his patience when a few forgetful ones failed to return books on time. In conclusion may we say, not only for ourselves, but also for a generation of students in England, Ireland, and Canadaz' Our sincere thanks for all your unselfish and devoted work . ,.,.- L

Q.. WA ,XX ll- Brother R.T. Unsworth Assistant-Principal A three year member of the faculty, Brother has been assigned the new duties of assistant-principal . Brother's office checks attendance and school financing. As part of his day he teaches American government and Business Law. Brother M.L. Crumlish Vice-Principal - Brother is the senior member of the faculty. Although semi- retired Brother can still be seen every day during lunch periods as he supervises the cafeteria .
