Many months of practice are put into a three night show. This could not be accomplished without the enthusiasm and cooperation which are essential to all Gymnastics is a sport of unusual dedication. The main competition in the sport is with yourself. The satisfaction of accomplishing something beyond your previous ability is great! It helps develop poise, self-confidence, and of course good health. It's fun to learn, and with a tremendous amount of practice who knows, maybe you'll be the next Olga or Nadia! Just think, with the new legislation concerning female re- porters , I can start doing interviews in the boy's locker room! Chris Sprague Contrary to popular be- lief, the Student Council DOES exist! Under the direc- tion of new president, Steph- anie Moffett, and advisor, Mr. Smilgin, the Student Council successfully re- solved the dance rules. The Student Council participated in a Government Workshop, helped promote the Youth Center's Winter Carnival, listened to guest speakers, investigated the possibili- ty of getting a school store started again, and also got the curtains put up and the bathrooms painted (which they wanted badly). Most responsible Student Council members work hard at their positions, enjoy their experiences in student government, and deserve a little credit for their ef- forts . Meg Wilkinson Kneeling: N. In the fall, seven new members were inducted. During the year, the NHS adopted (was forced to ac- cept) a new constitution which eliminated percentages as a means of limiting its mem- bership. Other matters discussed were scholarships, a fruit juice machine, and who would receive the dubious distinction of tending the temperamental Coke machine.'' Will you be big and strong? Will I wear dresses that show off my knees? Will you wear trousers twice as long? Well, I don't care if I’m pretty at all, and I don't care if you never get tall.
