MICRON Alpha Pi welcomed thirteen new members this year. The fraternity sold hot dogs and pop at football games and candy at basket- ball games. A dance in the lower hall and the In- terfrat Ball, sponsored by O. A. P. in cooperation with XYZ?, were very successful. The officers were Jack Speer, President; Jack Holcomb, Vice- President; Dick Brown, Secretary; Dick Sykes, Treasurer. Mr. Hayden was Faculty Advisor. ball games. F. A. fudging teams at and Hammond took 2nd, 4th, 1st, and 4th respectively; in the contest at the Canton Agricultural School, a team composed of Bernard Dominie, William Jordan, and Ronald Sibbitts won third place, losing second by one point. Dominie, Sibbitts, and James Kingston represented the county in poultry, crops and dairy cattle judging at the State Fair. The chapter took first place in the Dairymen’s League Milk Quality Control Contest for the second consecutive year; records kept by Donald Rood won second place in the individual scoring. Five members accompanied Mr. Smith to Farm and Home Week in Ithaca. F. F. A. letter “C” awards were presented in assembly to William Martin, Donald Rood, William Jordan, Ronald Sibbitts, James Kingston, and Bernard Dominie. Sibbitts and Jordan who are county officers, also received for outstanding achievement the degree of Empire Farmer, highest award of the New York State F. F. A., previously earned by only one boy from Canton, at the state convention at Waverly in May.
