High School Band This year was rather a revolutionary one tion of Mr. Nicke to the music department. He assumed charge of the band. After the Mr. Nicke divided the band; the more ad- vanced players formed a concert band, while the other players, plus the concert band, made up the marching band. The marching band played at most of the basketball the floor between halves of the games, under the leadership of Drum Major Charles Benz. In May the band went to Potsdam to participate in the May music festival. All in all, the band has had a fruitful year. Orchestra ' Under the competent leadership of Miss Dominy, the school orchestra has made string and. wind, have been added. Its first tion of the two one-act. plays. Instead of entering the Sectional Contest in Carthage. York Music Festival held in Potsdam, May 11. It also assisted at the local Prize a symphony. Although the organization is Chorus day evening from 7:00 to 8:30 under the direction of Miss Dominy. The officers are: Helen Wight, Assistant Conductor; Marian Smith, Assistant Pianist; Helen McMasters. Secretary; and Billy Hazen. Librarian. Last fall we, with the Junior High School Choir, gave a concert. We also sang at the local speaking contest and at the Eastern Stars. This spring we appeared at the May Festival in Potsdam, thus completing a successful and busy year. We hope this organization
