NONSENSE While walking through the fields one day On a bicycle of blue . . . I ran into a little child, His age was twenty-two. I asked him for a candy bar. . . He said he didn't drink, And every time I said my name He told me his I think. He said he hated talking In his sixty-minute speech, And even though he ran a school He didn’t like to teach. If this sounds like your principal, Don’t generate a fight . . . His students are as free as birds, (They have no human rights!) by Brett Stoneking Life is like a stream Flowing and ever changing To the ways of man. Jeff Sterling

INDIVIDUAL THINKING by Darrell Debassey Whitehurst Individual thinking will get you where you want to be; If you notice you're nowhere, you must be like me. You must strive hard and long before you reach the top. And when you get there, imagine that you can t be stopped. It takes individual thinking to do what you want to do; Don't let anyone tell you different, or you'll end up blue. There is a place under the sun for everyone; I'd like to see you where you want to be; Just remember to think individual.'' and be like me. TO A LOVE by Bret Stoneking The ecstasy I sing of must o'er with The heart-swept anguish and the pain within. Unto the mire of thought your touch rings through. Awakes my destiny to dreams of you. Perfection lies inept to charms and grace; The morning mountains echo from their face To tell you of the crystal, golden hue . And wish that they could reach and caress you. I would for thee risk all that is my own Without a single word, a sign or moan. And feign not in the justice of an end To all existence such as that I fend. Yes. I have found the end to all men's strife. For in your arms my soul hath found new life! Life . . A poem has stanzas That can be altered A song has words That can be changed. A story has parts That can be left out. But this is life, So don’t Try to change it. Alter it. or leave parts out. For you might be left holding the missing pieces! Kay Hassig THE BEST by Sandy Towberman Of all my joys, the greatest pleasure. Of all my dreams, the fullest measure. Of all my loves, the dearest treasure. And my cherished prize: A heart simple in charity. A spirit humble in purity. A mind sweet in serenity. I found within your eyes . PEACE! by Sandy Towberman Let us not debate. But watch and wait; Why try to top Each others devotion? For we know full well. That time will tell Whose love the drop. And whose the ocean . . . 19
