Outstanding » Senior Girl Deborah Franklin Voted the Outstanding Girl of the Class of 1977 is Deborah Franklin. This honor deservedly comes to her be- cause of her numerous contributions both in an out of school for the betterment of mankind. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald J. Franklin, who are also alumni of Canton South, Debbie has lived in Canton Local all her life. In her elementary years at North Industry, Debbie was equally at home in the library as a helper and on the track as a fifty yard dasher. At Faircrest Memorial Junior High School, she was a spelling contest winner, choir member and cheerleader. During her high school years her activities are too numerous to mention, but her unusual achievements are class president two years, attendant to the football homecoming queen, Repository Teen-Ager-of-the-Month and Year, valedictorian and winner of the Ethel Swanbeck, Panhellenic, and U S. Steelworkers of America Schol- arships. Deborah Franklin has prepared through Medical Explorers and the State Board Course of Study to enter Au- Itman Hospital School of Nursing.
