CALENDAR SEPT. 6-School started. SEPT. 7-Why isn't my schedule like hers? SEPT. 8-TGIF SEPT. 9-Massillon Preview-played Louisville, 'nuff sed. SEPT. ll-Second week of school begins. Wonder how many more days of school this year? SEPT. I2-Oh me, Oh my, are giving tests already. SEPT. l3-Senior magazine sales have started. Boys' team vs. Girls' team for a weiner roast. If all the en- thusiasm lasts, they'll set the town on fire. SEPT. I4-The seniors fnow grown up? are kept busy guiding lost seventh and eighth graders to 300-302. SEPT. I5-Cheer rally for junior high and separate one for senior high. South romped over Stow 35-0. 'Ray for our side! SEPT. l8-Monday already? But l just went to bed! SEPT. 2l-Chapel this morning. The Girls' Choir song. Rev. Calvert delivered the message. SEPT. Z2-South Wildcats met Wooster Generals in a I3-I3 tie-well, we didn't lose! SEPT. 23-Hi-Y retreat at Turkeyfoot Lake. Nice weather for eskimas. SEPT. Z4-Did you turn your clock back last night?? We did! SEPT. 25-Student Council devised a method for stap- ping Ior at least slowing down! the congestion in the halls. The stairwells are used for both up and down. Hey, you, keep to the right. SEPT. 26-Seniors started posing i?l for their gradua- tion pictures. SEPT. 27-Holiday-Feature film 'till 7th period. Oh. these blessed Cinemas. SEPT. 29-Big game with Toronto. The team and the bond members leave eighth period-Envy-I4-0 with us on top. SEPT. 30-The vocal department presented ln the Same Boat. Good for a laugh. OCT. 2-Senior occupation tests begin. OCT. 3-Tests continue. Do I syp grey hair? Seniors, really! OCT. 4-The ploy ln the Same Boat was given be- fore the student body in assembly. OCT. 5-Big explosion in Chemistry Lab-and the ceil- ing was just painted white!! OCT. 6-Mansfield Madison-the team to be feared retreated home to the tune of a 38-6 loss. OCT. l0-The Band show at North Canton. OCT. l4-Western Reserve Academy-we were just being polite and let them win 38-0. l?i OCT. I6-Have you noticed the Senior boys walking around with slings and crutches, swollen lips and bruised legs? Could it be the game? HMMM. Senior play practice begins tonight. OCT. I7-Adolesence has overtaken the population of our fair alma mater in the form of yo-yas and bubble gum. OCT. l8-Chapel first period. Father Steiger delivered a very fine address. OCT. l9- Now watch the birdie. Class pictures were taken today. OCT. 20-Senior proofs returned. How sad could any one picture get? South mauled Orrville 53-l3. OCT. Zl-Senior Rodeo Promenade all and the cider was good, too. OCT. 25-Safety assembly. OCT. Z6-Vice President Barkley came to our fair city, result-no afternoon Democracy classes. Hooray! what next? The teachers OCT. 28-Gloom and more gloom. Louisville l2, So. 6. NOV. I-Chapel first period. Rev. Parkinson spoke. NOV. l0-Central Catholic Homecoming Game. 32-0. Yippeee for us. The dance afterwards was a HUGE success. Congratuloitons Queen Joan! NOV. l7-What a wonderful way to end the football season-over Lehman I4-6. NOV. l8-Senior class play January Thaw. Nice work kids! Nice turnout, too. NOV. 23-Thanksgiving and all the stuffings. NOV. 24-Ah! Did you sleep in? A holiday, it sure feels good. NOV. 25-A blizzard-do you suppose . . . ? NOV. 27-Dec. ll-SNOWBOUND. Imagine missing all that school, Ain't it a shame? DEC. 4-Now we have to get used to school all over again. But it's been fun. Booster Club meeting this evening. DEC. 8-Alumni 50, Varsity 40. Announcing the basket- ball season. DEC. I4-Dangerous day in Chemistry class. Everybody getting aut. Don Sponseller was elected President and Bob Hindmarsh Secretary of the County Hi-Y. DEC. I5-With so much snow the buses are having trouble getting to school. Youngstown game cancelled. DEC. l8-Senior pictures arrived. Every where you turn they're exchanging them. DEC. 20-The Christmas assembly was held Znd and 3rd periods. With all that mistletoe floating around everyone had the Christmas spirit. JAN. 2-Back to school, ho hum! l could have slept in this morning, too. JAN. 4-Nothing very exciting happened today. We're still not back in the study rut. Speaking for some- they never will be. JAN. 5-Friday at last. We played Warren here and after a tough fight we beat them 39-35. JAN. 6-The Band Banquet. Plenty of fun and plenty of food! JAN. 8-Blue Monday. No more holidays till Washing- ton's Birthday. JAN. 9-We were downed at New Phila. tonight by a score of 55-53. Oh well, we put up o good fight. JAN. I2-Whew! We just squeezed past Toronto by a slim 52-50 margin. JAN. I5-Now this won't hurt a bit. The students to be vaccinated are just shivering when they look at the size of that needle. JAN. I6-Why is everyone running about with their noses in a book? New fad? No, sir! Exams tomorrow, Thursday and Friday. JAN. 20-Downed Akron St. Mory's by 2 points. 37-35. JAN. 24--We played at Western Reserve Academy at 4 in the afternoon. The final score after a close game, 58-44 in our favor. JAN. 25-Bad, in fact, sad news today-REPORT CARD DAY-'nuff sed! JAN. 26-Why is everyone preferring to stand today? Could it be yesterday? FEB. l-Big Show-Big Break! Sent home from school at 2 p.m. FEB. 2-No school-New Phila game postponed. FEB. 6-The team left for Steubenville early today. The remainder of the school saw a feature movie Great Expectations. We were shaded by Steubenville Central Catholic 55-54. FEB. 9-Our team brought home the bacon with a 58- 55 win over Ashland. 1Continued on page l2li I4

We collected dues and tax stamps to add to our treasury and sold pro- grams at the games, which proved profitable. Later in the year we had a wonderful class party. With the experience of the past year we expect to make our Sophomore year even better.
