The Board of Directors, which is responsible for steering the work of the Kayette Club, included the follow- ing officers and committee chairmen, president, Gaye Hinkle, vice-president, Dorothy Wallace, secretary, Virginia Schroeder, treasurer, Joan Heim, program, Gay Westbrook, point system, Carol Schlicht, community service, Marjorie Otte, recreation, Peggy Pierce, song leader, Ina June Young, and pianist, Carol Hintz. The Club sent two girls to Kayette summer camp at Rock Springs Ranch near Junction City last August, and was represented at the El Dorado District Conference in October by five delegates and a sponsor. The 3,000 point award was presented to the Club at Conference, and points are being earned this year for the 4, ooo point award. The year's activities have included sponsoring an all-school square-dance, preparing and delivering baskets at Thanksgiving and Christmas, Christmas caroling, Heart Sister Week, and a dad-daughter supper. The Hi-Y boys in Canton High School have a meeting twice a month. The Hi -Y president is Jay Keagle, the secretary is Dale Anderson, and the treasurer is Dale Bandy, Every boy in the high school is a member of the organization. H. R. Granger is the sponsor of the club. A program committee is appointed for each meeting. At Christmas time the boys made toys which were given to unfortunate children. They have good meetings and a lot of fun.
