Parading through the streets in colorful pajamas and flowing bathrobes is not a typical marching drill, but the award-winning Marching Tigers and their director, Bill Berry, are far from typical. Sleepy-eyed residents and businessmen just arriving to work were surely astounded by the outlandish sight of ninety-six, pajama-clad (and totally serious!) band students polishing their marching skills. This zany, early morning practice preceded the N.M.S.U. Homecoming parade in Kirksville on October 9. The prideful Tigers fared well with a I rating and a second place in overall competition. 12 Student Life

Games— Up With People Volleyball is an exciting sport, especially when one of the opponents is a world-renowned group of musical performers. During the latter part of March, the city of Canton hosted one of the five Up With People cast. The three day sojourn for the group included a costume banquet at the Golden Eagle Showboat, a full house concert in the Alexander Campbell Auditorium, and an invitation to compete in a volleyball contest with selected CHS juniors and seniors. Students and faculty filled the bleachers to view the action-packed games. The junior team emerged victorious and Canton High thoroughly enjoyed the community outreach of the energetic Up With People cast. Student Life 13
