Class Of ’78 What is the Senior year all about? An underclassman will say that it’s the year for goofing off and taking easy classes. A teacher says it’s a case of Senioritis, which becomes chronic near graduation. And the administration repeatedly mentions that Senior Skip Day is NOT a national holiday, and therefore the Seniors had better forget the whole idea, which of course never happens. But to find out the facts, where does a reporter go but to the source itself? The source being, of course, a Senior. So, a Senior was asked, “What is this year in your life all about?” “It’s a year of worries. To the underclassmen, it may seem easy, but take a closer look. Who do you see most often in the counselor’s office? We’re not there because we want to be, we’re there because we have to be. There are many difficult decisisons to be made. Are you going to work? For what kind of job are you qualified? How do you get a job interview? Are you going to college? Can your parents afford it? Fill out these financial aid forms, and here, fill out this application form, and oh, while you’re here, you may as well take this housing contract, and by the way ... It seems to go on forever.”
