Class Hrstory At the begrnnmg of the school year, I948 49 the class of 59 entered the doors of CHS to begun their twelve years of stay rn which trme each one was to leam all that there rs to know Thus class was composed of 40 pupils I4 of whrch remarned the full stretch rn CHS The I4 trred and true are as follows Patty Zahn, Janrce Gaus, Jrm Graham, Terry Eckstern, Jack West, Ronnre Levengood Ronnre Job, Ruth Ann Tumer, Judy Hogge, Colleen Smrth Norma Kerthle Betty Marks, and Kent Lettwrch This sterlrng group of young Amencanhood changed rn number through the years, untrl at cap and gown time we are 29 strong In the thrrd grade we were lorned by Mrke McFadden and Bull S hreffler The fourth grade brought 4 more to our group they were Lynda VanTress, Becky Frshback, Dova McCutchan an Grnger Baugher Judy Boudreau lolned our ranks rn the srxth grade The class of 59 was gurded through the frrst srx years by the followrng teachers Mrs Bevans, Mrs Leeser, Mrs Owen, Mrs Legg, Mrs VanTress, and Mrs Rrchards As we moved unto Junror Hrgh, Judy Sommers lorned our ranks rn the 8th grade The next year our heads swelled wrth berng Freshmen rn hrgh school and so drd our number by the addrtron of Jerry Edwards Judy Carskadon, Laurel Egley Patsy Johnson Mary Ann Walter, and Harold Wrllrams In the Sophomore year, wrth the addrtron of Vetty Jackson, our class reached the present number of 29 Fmally we reached Junror Hrgh In the frrst year of Junror Hrgh, wrth Mrs McClarn and Mr Glbble as sponsors, we worked hard to rarse money for the Kmg and Queen Contest and our candrdates were crowned In the 8th grade our sponsors were Mrs Ahrenholtz and Mr Gabel This year we had a lot of fun wartrng to become hrgh school students Durrng the Freshman year, wrth the help of Mr Smrth and Mr Ohlendort our Freshman Varrety Nrght was a success We moved rnto full srze lockers thus year also Durrng the Sophomore year wrth Mr McCampbell and Mr Day as our sponsors we were able to put on three one act plays ln the Junror year, we went all out and sold more magazrnes than any other class The clrmax of the Junror year was the Junror Senror prom under the setting of STARDUST which was rn keepmg wrth our class rrngs LUCKY STAR Mrs Motley and Mrs Leavitt were sponsors thrs year Our Senror year was a busy one wrth many money makrng prolects and our play, FINDERS CREEPERS Mr Hall and Mrs Ahrenholtz, class sponsors accompanied us to Chrcago where we had four wonderful days Mrss DeLaney helped us to get out the Snooper and the Flash Thus completes our hrstory to thus day May 22 l959, and thus evenrng we are turned loose upon the unsuspectrng world wrth our diplomas an our hands to uphold our class motto, TAKE THE WORLD AS YOU FIND IT BUT LEAVE IT BETTER Complrments ot GREEN'S DAIRY and BUETER BAKING COMPANY I . . - , I . . . . . . . , . . . . . .
