When I reached this fine community I was told that I could find quite a few of the Canton Class of '58 alumni at a P.T.A. meeting at the school. Donna Haller, now a second grade teacher met me at the door. As soon as I got inside I met some more alumnij Mrs. Patty Childress, Mrs. Lois Scott who both have fine families now. Also, in the group of parents was the former Judi Blackmore, the former Benadine Klusmeier. I found out that Judi has a boy in the 4th grade and Benadine a girl in the 6th grade. Then, here comes Joyce Cary, the commerce teacher at the school. She's working as hard as ever. I sat down and listened to a very informative speech on Homemaking by Joy Rose Wolf, who now is an authority on the subject. I bade farewell to the alumnae and headed for the airport. On my way I noticed a big grocery store with the name Logsdon, Inc. above it. I went in and saw Dick for a minute and found that Stanley Willis is the head of the meat cutters department. Very rich man? ? ? Next, I decided to visit some universities. At M.I.T. I found Gary Glove, who is Professor of Physics. He took me riding in his new car, which was designed by Gary Smith, the head draftsman at General Motors. We visited Bob Helsabeck who is horn instructor in the music cepartment. We all went over to the R.O.T.C. on campus, to hear a lecture on Naval Warfare by Lt. Commander CHARLES HURLEY BROWN. Then I went to the airport where I left for the University of Illinois. There I saw Betty Ann Lloyd, who is the head coach of girls' athletics. Incidentally, her teams haven't lost a game yet. John Wiskirchen has finally found his race. He is running the 2 mile in record time. From there I went to the parsonage where I met the Rev. Mr. Edmond Otto, a very capable minister. We watched the Kentucky Derby, and saw Ronnie Horner's famous horse, Doskey, run away with it. Again I boarded the plane and started for home. As I passed over a great forest I inquired as to who owned the land. The stewardess told me that it was state owned but Donald Raines was the conservation agent in charge. It looked as though he had a big job. For the remaining part of the trip, I read the paper. There I noticed that Larry McCullough was named the farmer of the year. 12 With that the list of alumni is complete and I respectively submit my report.
