Sensor Class Histor A warm day 111 September 1942 brought 30 charmmg youngsters begm a career of school There are now eleven of the or1g1nal who remalned durlng twelve trylng but reward1ng years These eleven are Sally Bayne Nancy Gamm Harry Hogge Janet and Jeanette Engandorf Mary Brown B111 Butler Marllyn Lewls Peggy French Brad Hoffman and Els1e Shouse Mlss Paultne Kless started us off well by teachmg us to read and wr1te M1ss Waneta Wood met us 1n the second grade Here we were thr1lled by our f1rst desks that could spm around ln the second grade we were Jomed by Delores Bruns Mrs Ethel Lasswell ID the th1rd grade and Mrs Florence Legg rn the fourth grade helped us struggle w1th d1v1s1on and mult1pl1cat1on tables To add to the troubles of fourth grade Mrs Legg was strlcken wxth the mumps We were jo1ned ln the th1rd grade by Don Amos Entermg flfth grade w1th Mrs VanTress as our teacher was another thrlll as we were now upstalrs Allen Bevans Jolned us th1s year ln the s1xth grade Mrs Wheatcl oft helped us to get prepared for .Tumor Hrgh Dor1s Collms met us here We really felt lmportant when we entered Jumor Hrgh Under the able made lt through Jun1or Hlgh Mrs McCla1n helped us wrth our Mzssourl H1story and under the gurdance of Mr Brown we were able to Wm the Kmg and Queen contest We were proud to say we made more money than any Hlgh School class that year ln the seventh grade we were Jomed by Harold Klusrne1er and 111 the ezght grade by B1ll Meyer Entermg H1gh School as green Freshmen Algebra and General Scxence had some of us stumped Here Nancy Rogers Barbara Campan, Luzda Inman jomed us to begxn our struggle through H1gh School Our Sophomore year we had four very successful one act plays under the able d1rect1on of Mrs Motley Our .Tunror year under the capable sponsorshlp of Mrs Beezley we had our play 'Battle for B1ll and magazme sales to ra1se money for our Banquet Our fmal year sponsored by Mr Ell1s Was very busy As d1gm.f1ed Sen1ors we ruled Canton H1gh School Our play Hold Everythmg wh1ch was a huge success sellmg bracelets and tme clasps, a Volleyball Tournament a skatmg party a benef1t p1cture show and numerous bake sales ra1sed money for our 5 day tr1p to Ch1cago The .Tumors gave us a VERY successful 1nv1tat1onal Prom and crowned our own Nancy Gamm as Queen We had double blue as our class colors yellow rose our flower and ' Push Pull Or Get Out Of The Way as our motto ' , , ' to I l 5 Q ! l I 3 ' guidance of Mrs. McClain, Mr. Brown, Mr. Martin, and Mr. Constantz we I . , . l . 0 I u 7 - : . . . ll .
