A bi-weekly newspaper called The Echo is put together by a group of student reporters guided by odvisor Mono Hoss. The poge is included in the Sioux Volley News ond informs the community of happenings related to the school ond the student body. The stories were written on students' own time, ond twice o month the select group of layout artists traveled downtown to the news office to put the stories, pictures ond heodlines together on one printed poge Editors Edie Baird ond Cindy Toy lor spenr o week out of their summer before taking the position to learn more about newspaper layout ond reporting ot o publications institute held at SD5U in Brookings. A great deal of imagination, obility. and time goes in- to every picture and every word of copy. The small staff spent hours and hours to complete the book, and despite the problems, setbacks, and deadlines, we had fun seeing the year come together or our finger- tips. As editor, I would like to rhonk those staff members who stuck it out ond gave up their sunny afternoons ond Saturdays to contribute their port in the production of this book of memories.
