Michelle Kruse, ond Kris Nelson Students Against Driving Drunk Local chapter distributes merchandise, promotes awareness Members of rhe Conron SADD (Students Against Driving Drunk) distributed about $500 worth of SADD merchandise including pens, pencils, bolloons, ond key chains to elementary ond senior high school students. Speakers from the organization were invited by clubs ond other organiza- tions to talk about alcohol awareness. This included rhe Conron junior high ond rhe Beresford junior ond senior high school. The SADD chapter provided films for their Drug ond Alcohol Awareness Day. S.A.D.D. 9

Jones advances to State ACTIVITIES--------- For the first time in seven yeors. the orol interpretotion teom sent on individual to state competition. Mike Jones advanced ot regionals. Students compete in these six categories: poetry, serious prose, humorous prose, oratory, duet acting, and dromoric reading. The teom enlarged con- siderably with many young competitors joining.  ACTIVITIES FHA sponsors children's corvivol zoo field trip The Future Homemokers of Americo sponsored mony octiviries in- cluding o kid's cornivol in the armory. Children participated in gomes and enjoyed foce-poinring booths and skits. The FHA chapter also rook residents of rhe Crippled Children s Hospital to the Sioux Foils Zoo for o field trip. Along with selling carnations on Valentine's Day ond mums or homecoming, they also provided sock lunches for the volleyball ream on away gomes. At the onnuol store FHA meeting in April, nine girls presented their action octivity events ond received rhe following awards: superiors — Elizabeth Baldwin, Vicki Buysmon, Renee McMurry, Liso Temple, ond Jone Ulmer, excellent — Brendo Buysmon, Kelli Decker, Jilloyne Fossum, ond Leslie Tollinger. 1 FHA officers were (from row): Recreation Leader Anne Hohmon.
