Averaging 461 people per doy. the library's attendance record was broken three times setting rhe new record at 572. Boosted partially by rhe junior high reading lob, circulation almost tripled.  -----ACTIVITIES VerWey leads student coundl Representatives of the student body numbering 11 were elected lost spring. Led by advisor Joe Hougen and president Mike VerWey, the group sponsored such activities os homecoming week, activities week, and the senior owards banquet. They also changed the slogan on the SADD sign every week ond filed school board reports. In the spring they sponsored the student council elections for the following year. 1 Miss DeDotes helps Nikki Englert ond Poige Decker arrange refreshment for o Continental breakfast sponsored by the student coundl for advisors during Notional Activities Week 2 Soon after the 1986-07 elections. Jones advances to State ACTIVITIES--------- For the first time in seven yeors. the orol interpretotion teom sent on individual to state competition. Mike Jones advanced ot regionals. Students compete in these six categories: poetry, serious prose, humorous prose, oratory, duet acting, and dromoric reading. The teom enlarged con- siderably with many young competitors joining.
