Rod Aashelm wos one of these. Rod ond 103 other high school bond members teamed up to moke four appearances in cities across the US. In November, they marched in the Mocy's Thanksgiving Day Porade in Chicago; on December 1 they were in the Christmas Parade in New York, they spent New Year's Eve in Phoenix for the Fiesta Bowl Parade: ond they marched in the Tourna- ment of Roses Parade in Pasodeno, Californio, on New Year's Day. Rod mentioned he wos very sur- prised that he was chosen because only rwo outstanding high school musicians from each state ond the District of Columbia, plus one member each from the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico compose the band. The All-American Bond program, sponsored by McDonolds restaurants, was created in 1967 to recognize ond reword the achievements of exceptional student-music ions. Seniors How many teenagers are able to experience flying on oirplane? Mike Jones did just that. His first flight wos during train- ing at age 14. He took lessons at Huron Aviation in Huron and flew a lot with his step-father who is olso o pilot He has flown many different types of private planes. I felt very nervous at first, but then I felt fine. It wos very exciting.1' said Mike He said he flies for fun and to gain a feeling of freedom. He plans to own o plane of his own someday ond hopefully run o charter service. Kathy said, I guess it's kinda nice being a twin,- you always have someone to talk to who will understand you. I think the best thing about being o twin is you're the closest you can be; you hove o best friend ond a sister. Having on identical twin sister isn't all fun and games as some people think it is. Kathy and Kris Myers loved physical education class, and both are involved in cross-country ond track; both work at the Dairy Queen. But, as Kris says, they are different in more ways than they ore alike Kothy prefers horseback riding ond reading while Kris likes a good gome of pool or softball. There ore some odvonrages of hoving o sister the some age, though. ACTIVITIES Graduation is here; the future is the life Graduation. The final moment in the life of a high school student.
