Ill Each fall brings the beginning of another school year. With the beginning of the year comes new faces, activities, and fads. It is the job of the yearbook staff to capture these hap- penings and tell about them so that they will not be forgotten in the future. The above pic- ture shows some of the tools we use to do this. Each year the annual staff also chooses a theme. They try to pick one that all can relate to. The theme of the 1984 yearbook is movies. Hopefully the titles used in some headlines will bring back good memories of the past. 2 SENIORS S ENICES SE NICIES SEN The Class Of 1984 President Vice-president Darin Wiebe Joyce Short Flower: Yellow Rose Secretary T reasurer Renae Bergh Colors: Light Blue And Dark Blue Motto: “Set us adrift on a sea of hope, and we’ll set sail to a new horizon.” Debra Abbas Valerie Beck Lisa Beitzel Annette Carlson Brian Carlson Twyla DenHoed Perry Fossum Scott Fossum Bradley Gill Diana Hoffman Steven Jandl Donald Kaarre 7 Carla McMurry Timothy Minihan Kimberly Moen 8 Lisa O’Connell David Powell Scott Roetzel Lorrie Pearson Tamara Penning Kay Riedlinger William Rudolph Brian Severson Charles Smith Lisa Snyders 10 Craig Solem Janie Sorlie Bradley Standley Paul Veldkamp Robert VanVeldhuizen 11 Shane Williams Randall Wissink Candid Camera UPPER LEFT: These senior guys (back) Mike Rebischke. There was a large turnout this year and after several hours of tryouts, fourteen students were selected. The rehearsals lasted for a month and consisted of practicing one scene repeatedly and breaks backstage with refreshments. Last minute preparations included checking over the lines and costumes and ma- keup. The first play entitled “Oh Baby , was about a boy who takes a substitute babysitting job and the complications that arise. The second play French Toast”, was about a young man who dreams that he is en- gaged to two women at once, and the fiasco that results. All the students in- volved, from the stage crew to the ac- tors enjoyed the play even though it was hard work and all contributed to making the plays a success. UPPER RIGHT Bill DenHoed. The sen- iors proved to be quite talented as no such venture has been attempted in past years. Almost every person in the class and even two juniors cooperated in the production. It is important to re- member, however, that not everyone who participated was seen on stage. Nearly one-half of those involved were backstage running lights, curtains, sounds, and applying make-up. This year it was held on Friday, April 18, a change from the normal Saturday date. Also, to spark new student inter- est. the juniors made and read a prophecy about each senior; and, each senior willed something to a ju- nior. Most everyone enjoyed this change and, hopefully, it will continue next year. Since the juniors are respon- sible for the banquet, they had to vote on a theme.
