Homecoming '82 officially got underway with Coronation on September thirteenth. Pam Gross was crowned as queen and Wayne Olson was chosen as master. Emcees for the ceremo- ny were Greg Abbott and Missy Christopherson. During Home- coming week there were special days, such as Blue and Gold Day”, “Old West Day”, Cap Day”, with the highlight of the week being “Punk Rock Day”. Weeks of preparation went into Homecoming. The Swing Choir worked hard on their selection “Ships for Coronation, the band had many early morning prac- tices to work on their half-time show, and of course many nights of work went into the floats. The Old West was the theme for Homecoming. Some of the floats were Corral the Watchdogs , “Watchdogs Last Stand”, and “Wash up the Watchdogs . The Homecoming game was dismal, however. With the rain and the 24-14 loss to the Beresford Watchdogs, there were some dis- appointed C-Hawks and C-Hawk fans. After the game, the sopho- more class sponsored the Annual Homecoming Dance.
