Mr. C. C. Jacobson, Superintendent, received his B. A. at St. Olaf, and his M. A. at the University of South Dakota. He attended summer sessions at the University of Minnesota and the University of Chicago. Before becoming Superintendent of Can- ton City Schools in 1926, he served two years as coach and four years as principal. During the years Mr. Jacobson has been in Canton he has taught social sciences, math, science, and now bookkeep- ing. He is chairman of the State Athletic Associa- tion and the past President of the SDEA. He is a past State Big Stick. Mr. Jacobson holds the Silver Beaver for Boy Scout work. Admini tration The schoolboard of Canton High School, consisting of seven members, is responsible for fixing salaries and the conditions af tenure of teachers. Other duties of the board are the examination and approval of the annual budget, levying taxes, providing adequate grounds and buildings for the school. Mr. Diekman and Mr. Scholten have each served on the board for two years. Mr. Deinema has served for three years, Mr. Iverson, four years, Mr. Bogue, one year and Mr. Skyberg, fourteen years.
