The soror- -iTy is one of The long-esfablished organizafions on The campus. The Alpha TheTa's have engaged in a number of acTiviTies This year. The season began vviTh a Halloween Dance. Homecoming followed and The Alpha TheTa's won The Trophy for The besT floaT. Rush Week crepT up and TvvenTy-Two girls were pledged. The formal Chrisfmas Dance was The nexT big evenT. Hell Week, Rough and Formal IniTiaTion vviTh Mixers in spare minuTes occu- pied The Time of The members. A circus was sponsored and proved differenT from The usual evenfs underTaken. ' During all These acTiviTies The ,members were Working faifhfully, furnishing and painfing a room in The Library Building To be used as a sororiTy room. - This proiecT was possible only Through The elforfs of our sponsors, Mrs. Hillegas and Mrs. Johnson and The Alpha Thefa Auxiliary. A Pre-Mid-SerneTer Hop sparked morale. Our new pledges were formally inTroduced To faculTy members and alumnae aT a Tea in The home of Mrs. Hadley Conn. Having passed exams successfully Cwe were firsT in scholarshipl, The Psi Chis celebraTed ChrisTmas wiTh SanTa in The O. K. Dining Room. Merry ChrisTmas! and To all a happy vacaTion. Back on campus. Hell Week became NeaTness Week. Rough lniTiaTion became an lndianap- olis Symphony ConcerT aT The MuraT TheaTre feaTuring Yehudi Menuhin, resulTing in six smiling faced pledges. Formal iniTiaTion was held on February 23, l948, aT The home of Mrs. N. C. HerringTon for MargoT Auge, Alvina Bischoff, Lois Jamieson, Nina Jamieson, Cora PaTchin and Marjorie Siler. ' - The luck of old Ireland was wiTh us aT our semi-formal Blarney Ball March l2, including The Blar- ney STone, shamrocks, and special enTerTainmenT by Louanna Rudd Triebel and The Psi Chi Trio.
