istorgv of Canon l'he Canon Log was first published in 1937 when Mr. Quincy lDiYenno agreed to supervise the publication of ll school annual. Many names were suggested for this pernianent yearbook. Canon Log was the name finally agreed upon as this was considered especially appropriate, - Canonsburg is named for its founder. Colonelflohn Canon. His last name was chosen as the first part of the new title. On the campus of Canons- burg High School stands ll log cabin, home of jefferson College, first college west of the A-Xlleglienies. LUG was chosen as the last part of the title of the new yearbook to symbolize this beginning higher education. Thus the special significance of the name CANON LOG endears the book to the students of Canons- burg High School.
