Many names were suggested for this pernianent yearbook. Canon Log was the name finally agreed upon as this was considered especially appropriate, - Canonsburg is named for its founder. Colonelflohn Canon. His last name was chosen as the first part of the new title. On the campus of Canons- burg High School stands ll log cabin, home of jefferson College, first college west of the A-Xlleglienies. LUG was chosen as the last part of the title of the new yearbook to symbolize this beginning higher education. Thus the special significance of the name CANON LOG endears the book to the students of Canons- burg High School. 'I'he ,purpose of the Canon Log has been to record each year's school life in pictures and writing that the year may remain a permanent record. 1. 1 1 f 0 ,fi 4 . Their job is to provide a steady stream of unfailing power to large furnace transformers. To do this job well, they are equipped with over-sized bushings C115 KVJ to nullify atmospheric conditions around the steel mills. Two safety valves provide an added measure of pro- tection. Radiators are generously spaced around the tanks to simplify cleaning and painting. The 25,000 Kva transformers are provided with conduits and mountings for the future addi- tion of forced air cooling equipment to increase capacity to 33,333 Kva. Like thousands of other Pennsylvania Trans- formers, these have worked throughout the war years, and are still on the job giving dependable, reliable service. e ' TRANSFORMER COMPANY mm 808 RIDGE AVENUE 0 PITTSBURGH 12, PENNSYLVANIA I . ronmws OISC.
