The girl's softball team was a young and inexperienced team for the most- part. Along with the novelty of exper- iences came a fresh and determined spirit. Though defeat became a too- frequent event, the attitudes were sportsmanlike, and the newly gained knowledge and experience became in- valuable. Of the 27 players in the varsity and iunior varsity teams, I9 were first year players. With all but four players re- turning, the I982 season promises to be one of improvement and continued progress.

This year we got off to a bad start in league play. With two losses out of the first three games. From then on, we won seven wins out of nine to finish in second place with a record of seven wins four losses. Scott Hilderbrand. Mark Piechnick, and the Miller broth- ers all were nomiated by the coaching staff for the section allstar team also nominated was pitcher Brad Severn with undefeated season.
